Discussion
The process to develop a piece begins with a discussion with the client. They typically describe a loose idea of what they are trying to capture but are not quite sure about the final piece.
References
I primarily work from photographs or other reference material the client can provide.

I find it is important to always take into consideration the final display location of the piece as this will greatly affect the size, use of color and materials I use in creating the piece. At this point, a 50% retainer is needed for me to purchase any materials and schedule the work.

Next comes the creative part of the process…taking what I have learned from the discussion with the client and the final display location - I get to work!
The variety of styles showcased in my portfolio reflect the variety of my clients. While someone may request the same subject, the energy and style projected from each individual is always a bit different and thus the artwork reflects this variation.
