Clouds

When I was thinking of the subject of my new series, I was at a fork in the road. Most of my work is commissioned based so I tend to draw a wide range of subjects and have requests for many different types of series. So while enjoy painting the variety I wanted to concentrate on a subject that really spoke to me. If you take one look at the all the photos on my phone you will find a large number of my photos (that aren’t of my children) are simply views of the sky….so I decided to explore clouds in this latest series. My grandmother loved watching the clouds so perhaps she passed that awe inspiring appreciation down to me. In this particular release - I focused on the skies on a drive across Georgia. It was during hurricane season when the tail end of the hurricane was on its last turn — the gray clouds are swirling away to reveal the blue sky behind them. There are 10 paintings in all - beginning in with a “polyptych” or four grouped paintings in Dewy Rose then moving on to Madison -> Gray -> Fort Valley -> Plains -> Bluffton -> Thomasville.
