11" x 14" Watercolor of Buckley the very dapper black Labrador.
Mother's Day
This is an "8 x 8" watercolor of a darling little girl ...who wants to be just like her pretty mama when she grows up. She is trying out her slippers and makeup just to get some practice...It is a lot of work being precious.
This is 40.
A good friend of mine recently commissioned these two little gems to commemorate turning 40. She sent one to her best friend on her 40th birthday and the other remains with her. While they are beautiful on their own, they aren't complete unless they are put together - just like the two friends. I listen to the Indigo Girls on repeat while painting which seemed appropriate. I liked the lyric - "your heart the red sun, my heart the moon clouded" It translated itself into my color palette

St. Simons - Messing about with oils!
I love the beach in the winter! It is my favorite time to go - It is so clean, wind swept and full of grays! This oil painting was a gift to my husband this past Christmas. It was based on a photograph he took of me - carrying our son down to see the waves.
Figure I
This is the first piece in my new series. I am harkening back to some of my favorite figure drawings. Most of these have been with me for a while now. The idea launched from "Naps with Cats". I loved painting the figure and thought I would try translating some of my favorite figures into paintings. These are acrylic paintings on wood panel. Here is a peak at #1.
