some old school Pen & Inks

I had several commissions for paintings of family homes this year for Christmas presents. They spanned the east coast -All the way from Albany, Georgia up to Dedham, Massachusetts. I decided for old times sake to break out my pen nib and a bottle of ink!

Equine Coat Color Series....

Equine Coat Color Series- I am indulging my horsey dorkiness.

When I was young, my sister gave me The Horse Encyclopedia. I poured over it for years - literally - it is still on my bedside table. I especially loved the pages with all the variations of coat color. I decided to embark on a series depicting all the various colors.  In the past, we have had quite a wide spectrum of colors that have gone through our barn; a palomino, strawberry roan, buckskin, dappled grey, several sorrels /chestnuts, various degrees of bays and a flea bitten grey.

Here are the first three in the series....in progress.

NEW PAINTINGS!

NEW PAINTINGS

New paintings coming your way! - Available September 1, 2016 at 10 AM!

Hooray!  I couldn't be more excited! Even though I have been busy with commissions,  I have finally been able to carve out time this summer to work on my own artwork!  I have been working on a horse series - All from the rider's perspective.

The first release will be realistic interpretations of my view aboard my horse, George. I will then translate these images into more abstract representations of the same views. It is exciting exercise for me to undertake and challenge for the "illustrator's eye"!!

These four painting will be sold through my shop and will be available next Thursday, September 1st! I will post a reminder that morning.  Thank you so much for your interest in my work! Here are several of the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not listed below, I would love to hear from you ! Email me at hello@meredithgillespie.com

1. Do you take commissions?

Yes! I am always happy to discuss your ideas.

2. How can I purchase one of your original paintings?

All paintings are for sale solely through my website. If a painting has sold, it will be marked on the top of each image.

3. How I can view paintings that will be for sale prior to their online release?

Currently, I will be posting images of each painting in progress onto my blog. This is a great way to see what will be available for any upcoming painting release!

4. How do I get my painting?

All paintings are shipped Fedex/UPS and shipping is included in the final price.

5. Will my painting be framed?

Yes, I have a relationship with a local professional frame shop who only uses certified picture framers.  I have selected specific frames and negotiated pricing for each series prior to their release. However, I only frame the pieces after they are sold. If you would rather frame the piece yourself - I will adjust the final price.

6. Do you have prints available?

Yes! Currently, I have two series of prints available through my Etsy store; figure drawings and baby animals.  I also have stock framing options available as well.
